What is your tennis level?
New
You’ve just started playing, or you’ve only played occasionally over the years. Your technique and ball control vary greatly – from the occasional great shot to more typical mistakes. If you play regularly and receive coaching, the beginner phase typically lasts about 6 to 12 months. Those with a background in other racket or ball sports may progress faster. In this phase (for both adults and children), using softer balls is recommended to allow for longer rallies and a stronger sense of mastery.
Connect & Play level: 1 star (NTRP 1.5/UTR 0)
Beginner/Lower Intermediate
You’ve been playing regularly for a while or in consistent periods. You have a solid basic technique in most strokes – especially groundstrokes – including grip and swing. You can rally 10–15 shots from the baseline at a low pace, using soft or regular balls. The serve is still technically challenging, but you often hit the correct service box.
Connect & Play level: 2 stars (NTRP 2/UTR 0)
Intermediate
You’ve played for several years, either as an adult recreational player or as a junior. You have good technique in most strokes and solid consistency. You can rally 10–15 shots from the baseline at medium pace.
You are comfortable with tactical play, meaning you can place the ball intentionally on court using topspin and slice.
Connect & Play level: 3 stars (NTRP 2.5-3)/UTR 2.5-4.5)

You’ve played for many years or have experienced exceptional development. You have or are beginning to gain good match experience, mainly at club or regional level.
You have developed your own playing style, can rally 10–15 shots at a high pace, and enjoy the challenges of match play.
Connect & Play level: 4 stars (NTRP 3.5/UTR 2.5-4.5)
Advanced Intermediate/Master
You are at the second-highest level in your club and have played competitive tennis for many years, both regionally and nationally. When you’re in the zone, you play at the absolute top level of your club (level 6).
