Every year between Christmas and New Year, Trond V. Thomsen — the flamboyant, eminent, and left-handed primus motor from Stabekk and Holmen — organises the most charming tournament of the winter season.
Friendly, competitive,
and always memorable
Intermediate to advanced players from clubs all over the region come together at Holmen Tennisklubb for a week of tennis between December 23 and 29. No stress, no pressure — just good tennis and good company.
Players are grouped and coordinate their own match times, booking courts at Holmen, Asker, Nesøya, Ullern, Stabekk, and Vestre Bærum. The tournament runs Round Robin into a knockout stage — quarterfinals on Saturday, final on Sunday.
The winner walks away with the coveted "walking trophy" — a trophy as impressive in size as the Champions League trophy. Invitations go out via WhatsApp the day before the tournament starts.

- Round Robin: Players divided into groups of four. Top two from each group advance.
- Knockout stage: Quarterfinals, semifinals, and final.

- Match length: Typically one hour. Longer sets by agreement, max two hours.
